What is the Brewers’ Coalition?
In the fall of 2013, two friends and occasional homebrewers came to the conclusion that they needed to brew more regularly. With the start of the New Year, they made this a reality, committing to bi-monthly brews and experimenting with new techniques and recipes. As more batches were brewed, new aspiring brewers were welcomed into the fold, and on a cold Hamilton Saturday in February 2014, the “Brewers’ Coalition” was born.
The Brewers’ Coalition is made up of a small group of graduate students – aspiring and post-academics – who embrace the various aspects of beer making (hop growing, malting, and, of course, homebrewing) as an escape from sometimes monotonous grad student/academic life. Each brings his or her own strengths to the coalition and the result is neverending good-times and delicious beer.
Coalition: A pact or treaty among individuals or groups, during which they cooperate in joint action, each in their own self-interest, joining forces together for a common cause.
